Day 103

Happy Halloween! We had mummies for lunch.

Jake was in a bad mood.

We made slime.

We played Halloween Bingo, Halloween Twister and the candy bar game.
The kids had fun handing out candy to the neighbors.

And we had a really scary visit from the Incredible Hulk.

Day 102

We went to a school Halloween party and the ward Halloween party.

The kids had a great time playing all sorts of games. Grace and Jake battled at the donut eating game. Jake won when he finally decided to just use his hands.

Jake loved getting his face painted and was so still. I have never seen him hold so still before.

We loved having Grandma and Grandpa with us!
This is the only picture I have of Noah in his costume. Don't know how that happened. He was a ninja.

Day 101

A lot of hard work went into making cookies today. But Lucy and Jake loved making Halloween shaped sugar cookies.

This was an extra special cookie Friday because we got to share it with Grandma and Grandpa Ogden!

Day 96

We wish our fridge had a water and ice dispenser. Jake is such a climber which is nice in this situation because he can get his own drinks.

Day 95

While discussing what Jake should be for Halloween, I decided he was just the right size for the Dumbo costume. This was originally worn by Noah for his 2nd Halloween. So I pulled it out thinking there was no way Jake would let me put it on him. But, true to form, Jake surprised me and was so excited about being an elephant! He has never seen Dumbo so we decided he needed to see what he was dressing up as. He sat on the couch and watched all of Dumbo while wearing his costume.

Enjoying the great weather with a great book.

Day 91

Picked out some pumpkins today.

Day 90

Today I took my kids to the lego store. It was the first time they have ever seen such a thing and it was so fun to watch Noah's reaction. He was in awe!

Day 89

We had such a great time playing football last night, we decided to do it again!

Saturday, October 16, 2010

Day 88

On Wednesday Jeff told me that Texas and Nebraska were playing each other on Saturday and asked if we wanted to have a football party. Apparently there is a game called "corn hole" that is very popular among football fans. That night Jeff and Aaron constructed corn hole which is basically a bean bag toss. Brenna made the bean bags and I cheered everyone on!

Texas VS Nebraska

We had our own football game during half time.

I love this picture. Brenna is super mom with Janie in her arms while blocking for James who ran for a touchdown. Jeff has kind of a scary look on his face as he blocks Noah.
An intense game of corn hole.
Texas may have beat Nebraska, but I won corn hole.

Day 87

Noah has spent the last 2 nights away from home. All of the 5th graders go on a 2 night "outdoor learning experience" aka camping trip. Noah was a little bit nervous to go without his parents as he is still getting to know people and make friends. But with a little encouragement, he went and was so glad he did! He had a great time and could not stop talking about his adventures. He was definitly missed around here and as Grace kept saying "it seem so weird without Noah." He definitly brings fun and entertainment to this house! Jake missed his wrestling buddy and so did I!

Day 86

Another budding reader.

Day 85

Tonight the girls and I got out the Halloween and Fall decorations.

My good friend Jill has inspired me to start hanging things from my chandelier! Every holiday she hangs something festive over her table. Since we don't live by her anymore, we decided to steal her idea.

Day 84

Snow cones in October?

Day 83

The ironic thing about Noah is that he hates salad when I make it for dinner. Won't eat it. But when I call it "Chef Salad" and he gets to create it himself, it suddenly becomes his favorite meal. We have discovered that Noah's problem with salad is the lettuce. So when he builds his own, there is no lettuce involved.
Jake on the other had loves salad and usually picks out all of the lettuce to eat first because that is his favorite part. Go figure.

Day 82

Jake loves his animals. He likes to carry them wherever he goes and will even bring them with him when he comes into our room in the middle of the night. Today he had his buzz lightyear riding the giraffe. I love little boy imaginations!
