Aunts and Restaurants

*Preface - my sister's names are Wendy and Mel

Conversation in the car today
Lucy: Mom, can we go to Mel's for dinner? You know, that restaurant called Mel's?
Me: I don't know what restaurant you are talking about.
Lucy: You know, the one called Mel's, not my aunt, but the restaurant!
Grace: You mean Wendy's?
Lucy: Yes! Wendy's!
Thanks Grace for clearing that up.

7 Kids

We had a major sleep over at our house! 7 kids with 2 one year olds included. We had a lot of fun playing games, eating pizza, and watching movies. Our good friends Jill and Rob went on an extended date for Rob's birthday and we got to keep their kids. Jake and Aubrey were so cute together. I have a new found admiration for mothers of twins.

Lucy and Ashley discovered a secret hiding place and I unfortunately did not get a picture of it. We have a small storage space under our stairs in the back of the coat closet. They pulled all the shoes and coats out and set up a place to read, draw and hide from the rest of us. Grace was sick with the flu and was sad she did not get to join them.

The Great Outdoors

Jake has been loving the great weather! He begs to go outside all day long and loves climbing up the ladder and going down the slide.

Jake has also become a big fan of the trampoline.

It is so hard to get a picture of two 14 month olds by yourself without letting them fall out of the wagon or roll down the driveway!

Leo's Big Adventure

This happened awhile ago. But I just found these pictures on my camera and had to post them. Noah and his friends set up an obstacle course for our gecko, Leo. Jake loves Leo and his crib sits right next to her tank. So he was especially excited to get to touch the lizard! It was kind of funny watching the kids (and Aaron) get excited about a gecko running a course.Fun way to spend a Satuday, don't ya think?

Derby and Meet

Noah had a very busy Saturday this past weekend. He had 2 big events back to back. Noah qualified for the State Swim Finals! He swam the 25 backstroke and did a fantastic job. It was a very exciting event with lots of swimmers, a huge crowd and 2 big pools. He got a shirt with his name listed on the back and we are so proud of him for this great accomplishment.

His second event was the pinewood derby. Noah and Aaron spent the week before building his car and as soon as Noah was done swimming, we raced over to the derby. It was a very exciting day!

(check out Noah's blog for his take on the day)

Seattle Pictures

Thanks to my sister Melanie for responding to my last post and sending me some pictures of our girl trip.

I just love these girls. They are the best support system, examples and friends that I could ever have. Thanks for a great time. We missed you Brenna!

My parents are so great. They have always been so supportive of me and have been the perfect role models for what I want in my marriage and family. I wish we could live closer to them so that my kids could be around them more. I cherish every moment I get to spend with them.

Seattle...pictures please?

I had such a great trip to Seattle a few weeks ago. It was so great to see all of my sisters and my mom and dad. Aaron was a good sport about taking some days off of work and staying with the kids for a week! I wanted to post some pictures of my time in Seattle, but do not have any. Can someone send some my way?
