Visitors!!!

We were very excited that Grandma and Grandpa Ogden came for a visit! We had a great time showing them around the island, and I think they had a good time too.

Aaron and the kids put up the Christmas lights. It did not really feel like Christmas because it was so warm! Putting up lights in shorts and flip flops was a first.
To make it feel a little bit more like Christmas, Grandma and Lucy cut out snowflakes and taped them to all the windows in the house.
Noah and Grace had a swim meet and we were so happy that Grandma and Grandpa were here to see it! Grace and Noah both did great and each received many ribbons, including 1st place!
It was so nice to have family around for a little while. We were sad to see them go. So, who's next????

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving. I had some helpers in the kitchen...
..until the chess game began.
Grace and Lucy had fun creating cute turkeys out of oreos and candy.
They turned out very cute!
We enjoyed our big feast with 2 other families and had a great time. Jake even got his first kiss!
Really wish this was a better picture.

Halloween

Making sugar cookies with friends!

Lucy at her school Halloween parade. Isn't she fabulous?

You can't see very well in this picture, but they are eating mummies for lunch!

Our spooky dinner menu:

*Brains (noodles dyed green)

*Eyeballs (meatballs)

*Bones (breadsticks)

*Blood (marinara sauce)

And Witches Brew!

The Costumes

Noah the Ninja - We weren't exactly sure what Noah was going to be for Halloween this year. We were discussing options for most of the month until Noah finally informed us that he knew what he was going to be but was not going to tell us. So we were a bit nervous on Halloween night. But our fears were put to rest when he came downstairs in last years costume.

Grace the Bumblebee - You can't tell in this pictures, but her skirt lit up!

Lucy AKA Superwoman

Jake the cowboy - He is wearing chaps that belonged to Grandpa Ogden when he was a little boy. Only Grandpa didn't wear them as a costume!

The After Party

I think the night was a success!

Surfing

We have spent the last 3 Saturday mornings learning how to surf! We still have a long ways to go to be able to say we are "surfers", but we are having a lot of fun.

Lucy the surfer girl.

Noah and Grace headed out to catch some waves.

Grace almost getting up. She did stand up later, I just didn't get a picture of it!

Lucy the surfer girl. These waves were small, and just the perfect size for her!

Noah, looking for the perfect wave.

Noah is getting pretty good.

We have been going to the beach at 6:30 in the morning to beat the crowds. The sun is just coming up and it is the perfect way to start the day. Since Jake is still a little small for surfing (although he would disagree with that) he spends the first hour or so watching the sunrise and eating his breakfast.

As the kids get tired from surfing, Jake is ready to play with them in the sand! They are content while Noah and I stay out and surf as long as possible.

October

We started off the month with Lucy's 7th birthday!

We had a few lemonade stands.

We did a little face painting.

Jake found a way to look out the peep hole at the front door.

Lucy had a fantastic birthday party. We have only been in Hawaii a few months, but this girl is such a social butterfly that she has already made so many friends!

And we bought an Ocean Kayak! We have been on a few adventures and we are loving it!

Lucy's Obstacle Course

Lucy is so creative. She spent the afternoon making an obstacle course for the family. We all had a number that we had to wear on our back and we had to take our turn when our number was called. The course involved jump ropes, shoes and cones. She even had prizes at the end!

Diamond Head and Waikiki

Noah and I at the top of Diamond Head. What an amazing view!

Almost there!

After our hike we cooled off at the beach on Waikiki.

We love living in paradise!

For Our Frog Loving Cousins

Dear Austin and Tyler,
Look what we found in our front yard! We thought you would think it was cool.
